The fool says in his heart, “there is no God.” We know this is the mantra of the ungodly. The world believes that there is no God. But what about believers? Sin is so heinous. Daniel Cresswell (1776-1844) says that this is “denying the agency of Providence, for the word Elohim, here translated, God, means judge (compare Ex. 22:28) and has reference not to the essence, but to the providence of the Deity.” I may intellectually deny the statement that “there is no God,” but live as if I believe it. How many times have I grumbled, murmured, and complained against God’s providence in my life? How many times have I been discontent, upset, and angry at the way God is dealing with me? Oh for grace to trust Him more! Thank you Lord that salvation has come out of Zion and that there is room at the cross for me. Pastor Wally
